The Tower Chronicles have not survived completely. Only few things have remained especially from the Time of Foundation. This means that I donīt recall the exact date of when I did what and when each and every update was done.

May 27th, 2005

To get some atmosphere to the site, I added sound to the first two areas.

May 2005

Those who think that I do not update my Tower, anymore, are wrong. A few broken links have been removed from the Worldsī Chamber, and, furthermore, some things have been added to the Library, the Gallery and the Conservatory.
Those who havenīt been here for a longer time and who may wonder about what has happened to the Draconian section: the dragoness herself destroyed this part of my Tower, and for this, she was banned from my territory for good. Some more details can be looked up in the bard songs which have been written after Where are you ?.

August 26th - October 11th, 2004

I re-designed the entrance area, and I separated the German from the English section.
Moreover, I re-structured my gallery and, of course, I added some more pics to it.

September 12th - 23rd, 2002

Phew ! Most of my library has been re-built, and only a few authors are missing now. I will complete this section when I have more time, but for now, I will focus my attention on the Travelogue.

August 19th - 23rd, 2002

The game section has been reconstructed. And with the Travelogue, a new, probably final, section has been added.

August 15th, 2002

Angelfire is a nice thing, but the fact that every frame automatically gets a really huge ad banner - even if you entered "Pop ups only" in the preferences menu - absolutely gets on my nerve. What nerves me even more is the fact that if I upload files with the internal FTP, a java script is automaticaly added tot he file, and this script sets cookies. So if you find Angelfire cookies - I didnīt set them. What also annoys me is the fact that the web space for those who use the free service has been narrowed down to 20 MB. Currently, my tower needs over 16 MB, so thereīs not much room, anymore.
Therefore, I moved to another server, plus: I have my own domain... now I have 100 MB, my pages arenīt spammed by advertisements... wonderful !

July 19th - 28th, 2002

The site is being partially re-designed. On the one hand, the file structure is being re-ordered, on the other hand, the outward appearance is being re-designed, as well. The heavy metal links have now completely disappeared from the links page, and they can now be found on a subpage on the respective band subsite. The music area will be completely re-designed and it will be turned into a subframe area. Thus, you donīt have to scroll down a band page from top to bottom, anymore. This re-arrangement has taken quite a long time, for - as can be seen on the music page - I recommend many musicians. While changing the design of the music department, I also changed the design of the smaller sections accordingly right away (links and quotes).

November 2001 - June 2002

Rather accidentally, I saw that web sites can also be designed with MS-Word. And if I activate the respective option, I can also add frames, and this is what I learnt step by step. Afterwards, I added frames to my tower. The results can be seen - Sparrowhawkīs Tower has become considerably clearer.

November 1999 - November 2001

In the meantime, Iīve had my own internet access. Back then, I used software to edit my pages. Please donīt laugh - I used Netscapeīs Composer. However, by being able to look at the source code and thanks to some knowledge I had acquired before, I was able to improve my HTML skills considerably. Today, I type everything myself, without using any web software. And for the typing, I use the regular Windows Editor.
I could realize my ideas at Angelfire. And I had much more room. I had 5 MB at the beginning, and later on, that room which humans call web space could be upgraded to 50 MB.
More and more contents have been added. Yet - whoever recalls the beginning of my tower at Angelfire still knows that many things were confusing. The German and the English section were separate, for I knew nothing about tables and how to edit them. And I had no clue about adding frames. Which is why each and every sub page of mine haf a menu at its end. And the guest book was only accessible from the homepage.
Most of it changed during my time in Canada. There, I learnt more HTML, and I experimented a lot. When I knew most of editing tables, I changed a part of how my web site was built. Instead of having 2 separate sections, I packed everything into one big bi-lingual section. This basic table design has not changed till date.

November 1999

In the course of time, I learnt a bit HTML - Iīm still learning, but Iīve learnt most of what I need in the meantime - and I had more and more ideas about what to add to the contents of my tower. Metropolis, however, didnīt provide me with the opportunities to realize my ideas. I thus moved into a bigger tower. My new tower, then, stood at Angelfire.

May / June 1999

I continued surfing through the internet, partly for private interests, partly because I was looking for material for my exams, and I saw that some club members had their own web sites. More and more, the wish to have my own web site grew inside of me. When began, I wanted to remain as close as possible to my nick name and its roots. And what is better suited for a mage than a mage tower ?
I built my first tower at Metropolis. Back then, this service didnīt allow much. One could have one picture, and that had to be a link; it was impossible to upload anything. Apart from that, one only had a single page at his disposal. HTML was not permitted, at all, and links could be set only by means of internal commands. And a guest book was offered. That was all. So, this tower was very small.
Back then, however, I had the wish to build a bi-lingual tower, which is why I registered for 2 separate pages, one in English and one in German, and I registered for 2 guest books - one for each page.

February / March 1999

And thus, I moved through the internet. By the way, humans call this surfing. Email adresses were required everywhere, so I registered to have one, too. Back then, I was registered at Hotmail. I was looking for material about Robert Jordanīs Wheel of Time series, and I thus found a German Wheel of Time forum. And through this forum, I found the German Wheel of Time fanclub of which Iīm still a member - which, apart from Sesch and Azmodean, makes me one of those members who have been in the club for the longest time. Back then, I needed a nickname. As I said, I like fantasy fiction, and Iīve always had a liking for mages. The names of popular characters like Gandalf or Saruman, I thought, would be taken by many people, and I wanted something more exclusive. Names from Wheel of Time were not accepted in the club. Back then, I was reading Ursula K. LeGuinīs Earthsea tetralogy, in which there are mages, too. I had taken a liking to one of the main characters. His real name appeared too simple to me, so I adopted his nickname - and thus, my internet presence as SPARROWHAWK was created.

January 1999

Those days I discovered what the people on Earth call cyberspace or internet. Back then, everything was so new and confusing to me. The only ting I could do was operating a search engine, which I needed to prepare myself for my Masterīs exams at university, which were close at hand. Since fantasy fiction was one of my topics during my oral exams (here, I would like to cordially thank Prof. Dr. Reinhold Schiffer, who accepted fantasy fiction as a topic), and since this department, at my former university, is scarcely represented, and almost exclusively reduced to J.R.R. Tolkien, who created modern fantasy writing - even though Tolkien is one of my favo(u)rite authors, this is a regrettable circumstance - I moved through the internet to look for new material.
